The Soaring Association of Canada is excited to support a fantastic week of soaring with a new and exciting contest format introducing the first Western Soaring Showdown! This week of soaring features two contests for pilots to celebrate the sport through the skies of southern Alberta.
The Cu Nim Gliding Club is excited to host two soaring competitions concurrently over 7 racing days in May! The renewed Western Canadian Soaring Championship, combined with the Alberta Provincial Soaring Championship for the 2023 Western Showdown!
A week of racing for the renewed Western Canadian Soaring Championship, including the Alberta Provincial Soaring Championship through the final weekend will create a fantastic soaring opportunity, culminating with a exciting final weekend of competition. This new format will provide competition opportunties for pilots of all levels of XC experience, and scheduing flexibility!
Cu Nim looks forward to facilitating safe, comptetitive, and enjoyable soaring competitions, sanctioned by the SAC sporting committee.
Join some of Western North America's top soaring pilots as they race over the foothills and prairies of Southern Alberta. Volunteers are always welcome, and usually put to rewarding work. Catch the energy and enthusiasm of soaring competition - the excitement is contagious!
For pilots, contest information is found with the registration form, and the pilot kit distributed prior to the event. Once posted, it will be found in the Resources section of this site.
